Kobo is a Canadian company owned by Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten that sells eBooks, audiobooks and e-readers. They are the biggest competitor to Amazon Kindle and they pride themselves as a brand that encourages reading and being a more human/personable brand.

My day-to-day consists of creating email designs, web banners (for the Kobo website) and social media/affiliate ads for authors and promotions alike that Kobo is associated with. Below is an example of email hero designs I've done for a particular promotion for the upcoming Kobo Originals book that was about to be out:

Occasionally, there are certain projects that I work on that require more time and consideration put into them, such as promotions for e-readers, gift cards and campaigns that happen at specific times of the year.

For the Q3 Campaign concept, the Creative team wanted to bring a sense of warmth and nostalgia while also visually conveying the idea of being whisked away to a different world when reading. This is achieved by the use of the infamous Polaroid with bits of masking tape as framing devices, as well as layers of filters applied to background imagery to give that "dreamy but imperfect photo" look. Careful consideration was also applied to background choice to ensure that the eBooks in question were accurately promoted while adhering to campaign aesthetics.
Q3 also coincided with the product launch of Kobo's colour display devices, which further emphasized the importance of spotlighting the product and its capabilities. All Q3 assets were made in Photoshop and then later imported to Figma for banner, social media assets or email design.
